Morning Stretch (ages 18+)
Get refreshed and energized before you begin your day! This invigorating class is geared to beginners and anyone who wants to relieve stress and exercise at the same time. Come join us at dawn to wake up and work out! Class will consist of relaxation exercises, yoga and dance technique, deep stretch and cool down. This class begins with a breathing and relaxation movement, then continues with 15 min of abdominal and arm muscle stimulation, 10 min of yoga and dance technique and 35 full min of deep muscle and tissue stretch. Start your day RIGHT!

Burlesque Monday (ages 18+)
A woman-empowering performance concept with a
modern day feel. Class begins with a technical warm-up that includes ab and arm strength training. Class flows into fiery and sexy improv and choreography . Low to high energy with music spanning multiple genres. Dare to tease!

Creative Movement (ages 2.5*- 4)
This class is part of Journey Movement classes. It is designed to give younger students the basic fundamentals of movement and dance. Creative movement’s core foundation is in ballet but incorporates elements of jazz, drama and music. This class incorporates song and props to enhance basic motor skills. This is ideal for a student’s first extracurricular activity.

Pre Ballet / Jazz (ages 4-6)
This class is design for younger students that to learn basic jazz and ballet technique and choreography. Class will consist of a basic warm- up, technique, choreography, stretch and cool down. This class is ideal for students that have started school and are used to structured activities. This class uniquely splits into to spate classes to give students the structure of a normal dance class but allows for the frequent transitions that is need for the students development level.

Jazz / Hip Hop I.-II. (ages 7-12)
This class is for beginner dancers. Students will learn basic jazz technique with a fusion of hip-hop style. Class will consist of a basic warm- up, technique, choreography, stretch and cool down. Classes begin with 15 min of warm up and stretch which includes isolations that warm up each individual body part and stretches the muscles to increase flexibility. Warm up and stretch are followed by 15 min of basic technique which includes short exciting combinations across the dance floor. Students will then engage in 25 min of choreography that will builds from week to week Finally, class ends with a review of terminology and cool down. Students will receive dance terminology and review sheets for use at home.

Ballet I.-II. (ages 7-12)
This class is for beginner dancers. Students will be introduced to beginning ballet steps, terminology and the basics of dance and performance . Students will learn technique using the Cecchetti School of Ballet. Classes begin with 15 min of warm up and stretch which floor barre routine. Warm up and stretch are followed by 15 min of basic technique which includes short exciting combinations across the dance floor. Students will then engage in 25 min of choreography that will builds from week to week Finally, class ends with a review of terminology and cool down. Students will receive dance terminology and review sheets for use at home.

Junior Dance Company (ages 7-16 by invitation only)
This class is designed for experience dancers. Journey Junior Dance Company will learn fusion of classical ballet technique with modern, jazz, and street hip hop flava. Students will have extensive ballet and modern technical training, stretch and conditioning, choreography and performance training. Students will learn dance history and various elements choreography. Students will have opportunities for performance in select outreach concerts. Students that are successful in this workshop will have top consideration to become Journey Dance Company members in the fall.

| DRAMA |
Acting 101 (ages 6-17)
This class is designed for students learn the basic fundamentals of the Art of Acting. Students focus deeply on the differences in acting and reality. Students learn characterization, improvisation and site reading . Students are encouraged to participate in the development of their show piece. Included in this you will learn the aspects of the theater, which includes stage direction, costuming, character building, technical theater, and directing and arts administration. This class is a introduction of what it takes to bring a production to life.
Basic Acting I. (16 and up)
This class is designed for non-professionals looking to sharpen their basic acting skills. Classes will assist in enhancing techniques students can use for any stage performance through vocal artistry, improvisation, scenes development, character development and monologue work.
Basic Acting II (16 and up)
Using techniques learned in Basic Acting I, students work toward creating equally powerful scenes. Techniques will include sense awareness and memorization, characterization, sound patterns: Rhythm and drama, spoken word and poetic drama.

Basic Acting III: Advanced Scene Study (16 and up)
Using techniques learned in Basic Acting I & II, students will explore the creation of more complicated scenes.
Including Group Theatre, The Magic of the Theater, stage production and directing, customs designing and stage props.

MUSIC |
Intro to the World of Music (5-6)
This course will teach you to play the instrument of your choice and introduce you to music notation and music theory. I assume that you are beginning the course with no keyboard skills and that your playing will improve steadily throughout the term. I also assume that you initially know nothing about music notation. The music theory that you will learn will help you to understand music notation and the structure behind the music that you hear and play. It will help answer questions like; What notes sound good together and why?
Class will begin with music theory. Questions will be answered about assignments in the
workbooks and new material will be presented. During the remainder of each class, students will practice individually to receive feedback about their progress and to receive assignments to play for the following week.
Beginning Instrument Lessons (5- Adult )

Vocal (5-Adult)
This course is designed as an introduction to vocal technique, performance skills and vocal music repertoire. The information, skills and training covered in this class are intended to advance the vocal ability and experience students taking vocal music in the music program. Classes consist of private lessons, individual vocal instruction, music listening, lectures, demonstrations, discussions, learning activities, performances, practices, and examinations. Homework assignments may include vocal practice, worksheets, readings, and practice journal. Curriculum areas covered include vocal technique, performance practice, vocal literature, vocal anatomy, physiology and language diction.
