| Workshop and Audition Information |
Workshop
Journey will be holding a workshop monthly to help prepare you for our audition.
The Workshop will consist of an extensive warm- up, barre, technique, choreography,
stretch and cool down.
The Workshop begins with 25 min of warm up and stretch, which includes isolations that
warm up each individual body part, abdominal & arm muscle stimulation & strength
training and stretches the muscles to increase flexibility. Warm up and stretch are
followed by 15 min of basic technique which includes short exciting combinations across
the dance floor to assist the strengthening of the cardiovascular system. Dancers will
then engage in 20 min of basic hip hop choreography. This will be followed by 20 min
of more advanced technique and 40 min of more advanced choreography. You can
come to as many work shops as you like.

Journey Dance Company holds auditions for experienced dancers to become members
of the Journey Dance Company for the 2010-2011 Season. Journey Dance Company
Members are featured in two original productions per season. There are also teaching
and outside performance opportunities for our dancers.
REGISTRATION REQUIRED
Requirements:
Age 16 - up* (dancers under 18 require parental consent)
3 years dance/ performance experience
Proper Dance Attire/ Shoes Required
Date/Time: The Last Saturday of each month

The Journey Dance Company began in January 2007 with the purpose to expose youths
and adults to dance. The JDC has performed throughout the Metro Atlanta community
including The Sweet Auburn Festival, The Independent Black Film Festival, Oglethorpe
University, Morris Brown College and Georgia State University to name a few.
Company rehearsals consist of extensive technique, stretch and conditioning & Journey
Performing Arts Center's Annual Winter and Spring production. Company Members are
given other performance and teaching opportunities throughout the dance season.
