Outreach Dance Classes
Purpose
Journey Performing Arts Center (JPAC) is a non-profit corporation that
provides the community with a learning environment that trains adults
and children in the discipline of dance, drama and music. The purpose
of our outreach program is to expose youths to the arts, specifically
dance, that would otherwise not have the opportunity.
Procedure
1. Choose Class Outreach Creative Movement, Outreach Jazz/Hip
Hop, Outreach Ballet, Outreach Adult Dance Fitness
2. Choose Number of Weeks ( Six week and Fourteen weeks are
provided, other session schedules are available)
3. Decide Date and Time that classes will be held each week
4. Sign Contract (which includes payment schedule and all terms
and conditions)
5. Students will be required to be in proper dance attire
6. Journey provides music and all equipment need for classes
7. Journey provide the venue for performance (if necessary)
8. Journey wants to make this a wonderful experience; we can
tailor our programs to fit your specific needs. Feel free to inquire about
any components that you feel would better suit your program

Sample Classes*
Outreach Creative Movement (Ages 3-5)
This class is for beginner dancers. It is designed to give younger students the basic
fundamentals of movement and dance. This class incorporates song and props to
enhance basic motor skills. Classes begin with 10 min of warm up and stretch which
includes isolations that warm up each individual body part and stretches the muscles
to increase flexibility. Warm up and stretch are followed by 10 min of basic technique
which includes short exciting combinations across the dance floor. Students will then
engage in 10 min of choreography that will builds from week to week This is ideal for
a student’s first extracurricular activity. *Classes are blocked for 45 min, however we
only dance for 30 min. This extra time is needed for preparation and closing because
of the age group of the children.
Package 1- School can pay for classes upfront and offer them free to parents
Package 2 (minimum 5 students)- Parents can pay for students individually
Outreach Jazz/Hip-Hop (Ages 5-18)
This class is for beginner dancers. Students will learn basic jazz technique with a
fusion of hip-hop style. Class will consist of a basic warm- up, technique,
choreography, stretch and cool down. Classes begin with 15 min of warm up and
stretch which includes isolations that warm up each individual body part and
stretches the muscles to increase flexibility. Warm up and stretch are followed by 15
min of basic technique which includes short exciting combinations across the dance
floor. Students will then engage in 25 min of choreography that will builds from week
to week Finally, class ends with a review of terminology and cool down. Students will
receive dance terminology and review sheets for use at home.
Package 1- School can pay for classes upfront and offer them free to parents
Package 2 (minimum 5 students) - Parents can pay for students individually
