| 2009 Scholarship Guidelines General Information Journey Performing Arts Center is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation and is committed to bringing you this extraordinary educational and performing arts experience . The number of scholarships we are able to give out is based on the level of contributions we receive each year. We are deeply committed to energetic fundraising because we know our ability to offer scholarships enrich everyone's experience in our programs. While we sometimes receive more requests than we are able to fill and have to turn down some potential students, we do stretch these limited funds as far as possible to accept as many children as we can. Selection Criteria We select children whose families are below the poverty line (see income guidelines below) and are unable to pay the full cost of camp. We also select students based on potential in the arts, which my have a higher income but have already been in performing arts programs and exhibit potential. In selecting our scholarship campers, we try to create the rainbow of diversity that is intrinsic to our camp. In particular, we seek to grant scholarships for children with creative abilities and talents who have no other means of developing these skills. Scholarships are given on a first come first serve basis. Guidelines for Income based Scholarships Journey Performing Arts Center uses the Federal Government's USDA Summer Food Service Program income guidelines in order to determine eligibility for funding.
